A man with many facets
Born in Germany to guest worker parents and raised between southern Germany and southern Italy, I was shaped by discipline, hard work, and the hope for a better future.
Through hard work, talent, and timing, I went on to build Europe’s largest privately owned hospital group over nearly 25 years. I am driven by the ambition to improve healthcare through innovation and digital transformation. Professionally and personally, I stay close to people, support reorganization and new business ideas, and write blogs and books shaped by the eight facets of my personality.

Building has shaped my career and my life. I built Helios into one of Europe’s largest hospital groups and now focus on growth, transformation, and new ventures. As a father of ten, I believe building families, businesses, and ideas starts with responsibility, structure, and growth.

I founded IQM, Germany’s largest voluntary quality network, and helped shape healthcare innovation through initiatives such as NESA, the Helios Health Institute, new quality-focused reimbursement models, and digital care solutions like CUBE.
I also built prevention centers, occupational medicine clinics, and fertility clinics, while advancing digitalization and AI in healthcare. Since 2024, I have focused on investing in healthcare companies developing innovations in cancer immunotherapy, secure health data exchange, and AI-driven improvements in quality of care.
